Learning that reaches beyond the workplace

Agile Sweater has launched RISE Foundations, a life skills development programme with a particular focus on women’s confidence and capability. It supports workers in developing practical skills, understanding their rights and making informed decisions in everyday life.

The programme combines core learning with a supplementary package in health or financial literacy. Its peer education approach gives employees an active role in sharing knowledge with colleagues, helping learning reach beyond the training room.

Five foundations for everyday life

The mandatory core package provides approximately 14 hours of training across five months. Each module takes around two to three hours.

1. Self-management and ChangeDeveloping personal awareness and approaches to change.
2. Gender and CommunicationExploring gender and strengthening communication.
3. Problem Solving & Decision MakingBuilding skills for considering challenges and making decisions.
4. Time and Stress ManagementUnderstanding how to manage everyday demands.
5. Fundamental Principles & Rights to Fair Conditions at WorkBuilding awareness of rights and fair working conditions.

From kickoff to continued practice

1. Getting started. Kickoff, project committee formation, management orientation, Peer Educator selection and a baseline assessment.
2. Building the core skills. Five core modules, followed by peer-to-peer sharing and monitoring.
3. Reviewing progress. A midterm management meeting to review implementation and support the next phase.
4. Learning the selected package. Four supplementary modules, further knowledge sharing and refresher training.
5. Reflecting and sustaining. An endline assessment, closing meeting and planning to continue useful practices.

This is the programme sequence outlined in the kickoff materials, not a record of stages Agile has already completed.

Supporting learning throughout the year

The kickoff materials introduce Cambodian Women for Peace and Development (CWPD), a local NGO supporting women’s confidence, equal rights and participation, as the Cambodian implementation partner.

Within the programme model, local partners lead training, guide Peer Educators and assess progress. The workplace provides time and organisational support, while the RISE team supports partner capacity and programme quality. Participating brands have a supporting role in engagement and follow-up.

Baseline and endline assessments help understand change over time. Individual interviews are conducted confidentially, with findings reviewed through the programme’s reporting process.
